01Getting in touch

Email support@redrocktech.dev. Three things make a problem findable straight away, and without them it is usually guesswork:

  • Your device and iOS version — an iPhone 15 on iOS 26.1, say, or an Apple Watch Ultra.
  • The city you were looking at, and whether it was your current location or a saved place.
  • A screenshot, if there is anything to see. A wrong number is much easier to explain with the screen it was on.

02The weather is for the wrong place

Nimbus asks for your location only while you have the app open. If iOS has not handed it a fresh fix yet, it shows the last place it knew rather than nothing at all — so just after a journey it can briefly be a step behind.

Pull down to refresh. If it persists, check Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Nimbus is set to While Using the App, and that Precise Location is on. With Precise Location off, iOS gives a much coarser area and a neighbouring town can win.

03Widgets and complications

One says Nimbus Premium

Most widgets and complications are part of Premium. The free set is chosen so that every surface still works: on the Home and Lock Screen, the weather widget, the weather and rain text lines, Daily Forecast and Hourly Forecast; on the watch, Temperature, Condition, the weather text line, 3-Day and Hourly Forecast, and Rain in the corner.

One is not updating

iOS decides when a widget may refresh and limits how often, which is why a widget can sit a little behind the app. Opening Nimbus always refreshes what the widgets read. If one is stuck rather than merely stale, removing and re-adding it clears it.

A complication added to a watch face can take a few minutes to appear after the app is installed, and the watch must have been unlocked at least once since.

04Rain in the next two hours

The minute-by-minute nowcast needs a high-resolution regional model, and those do not cover the whole world. Today it is available across the continental United States, southern Canada, and western and central Europe.

Everywhere else, Nimbus shows precipitation hour by hour instead. We would rather say that plainly than interpolate the hourly figures and present the result as a nowcast, which would imply a precision that is not there.

05Cities not syncing

Syncing your saved cities and settings between devices is part of Premium. It travels through your own iCloud account, which means we never see it — and also that it needs iCloud signed in and working on both devices.

Check Sync across devices is on in Nimbus → Settings, that both devices are signed in to the same Apple Account, and that iCloud Drive is enabled. A device that has been offline catches up the next time the app is opened.

06Subscriptions and refunds

Premium is available monthly, yearly, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends, and are managed in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. A lifetime purchase never renews and nothing further is taken.

I paid and Nimbus still says free

Open Settings in Nimbus and tap Restore purchases. If that does not do it, check you are signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with — purchases belong to the account, not the device — and then write to us.

Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple rather than by us, and we cannot issue one. Request it at reportaproblem.apple.com.

07Where the forecasts come from

Forecasts come from national meteorological services, and from Apple Weather if you choose it as your source in Settings. Air quality is the European AQI.

Two forecasts for the same place will disagree, and both will sometimes disagree with the sky outside. That is the nature of forecasting rather than a fault in the app — which is also why Nimbus lets you choose the source and see what each one says.
